Wax Melt FAQ

Why can wax melts have a stronger hot throw than candles?

Hot throw depends on the fragrance, warmer, room, and airflow. A warmer heats wax without a candle flame, so the fragrance is released as the wax warms. Walkerville Candles melts use 100% natural soy wax and phthalate-free fragrance oils. Scent strength can vary by fragrance and room.

How does warmer wattage affect scent?

Wattage affects how quickly a warmer heats the wax. A warmer that heats more strongly may release scent faster, but results vary by warmer and fragrance. Follow your warmer’s instructions and start with one melt cube to find the intensity you prefer.

What if the scent seems weak?

Try a fresh cube if the fragrance has faded, and check that your warmer is heating as intended. Room size and drafts can affect how noticeable a scent is. Let the wax cool before removing it, and follow the warmer maker’s care and safety directions.
